The Leaders: Nelson Mandela and Winston ChurchillI personally find leadership an interesting and fascinating topic, that can be explored in many different ways. It interests me how it is possible for one individual to gain support from hundreds of people, how people can rise to power and how leaders can make such a differences in the lives of ordinary people in positive and negative ways. For this module we watched and analysed a few movies. Firstly we watched the movie 'Money Ball' which I thought was a great movie. It was about one person wanting to change baseball for the better, by using statistics. It was about how statistics revolutionized baseball.
We also watched the movie 'Invictus' about how Mandela used rugby to unite South Africa, a country that was separated by the colour of their skins. I would later use the message of this movie as a foundation for the section of my leadership project on Mandela. Lastly we watched the movie 'Couch Carter' which I think was very inspirational and clearly demonstrated the key traits of a leader. I decided to do my project on Nelson Mandela and Winston Churchill as they are both impressive leaders who both fought for their causes. It was interesting to compare these two leaders, as I had not noticed the similarities and differences between these leaders before. Below is a copy of my Leadership Project!
