For our Chinese Project Lily and I decided on creating a detailed yet entertaining presentation on the Beijing 2008 Olympics! We spent a few weeks gathering all the information about the 2008 Olympics from various websites and books. We aspired to explain the 2008 Olympics to our class from a different angle. As opposed to simply giving facts and statistics about the sports played, the athletes and the countries participating, we looked at the bid, the planning of the Olympic Games, at the opinions of influential world leaders on the Beijing Olympics as well as the controversy surrounding the Games. Also we thoght we would include a few interesting facts on the Chinese flag, capital and national anthem for a bit of variety!

Chinese Culture is a fascinating module which really opens my eyes to the world. It makes me more aware of different cultures and reasons why these cultures evolved. Ms Molloy is a great and fun teacher! We learn almost everything about China from Chinese Marriage Traditions(we actually re-created one in the classroom!) to Chinese Ethnic Minorities to Chinese Festivals. We also learned howto say a few sentences in Mandarin! Lily and me did a project together on the Beijing 2008 Olympics and presented it to the class on the 30th of Septemeber 2016. Just a snapshot of some assignments we had in Chinese Culture, to give you an idea of what we're doing.
