Public Speaking was, in my opinion an exciting and interactive module that taught us many practical skills we could employ in the future. In today's world public speaking is such an important part of many jobs, and a person who is comfortable at speaking and good at getting their message across clearly will do much better in job interviews as opposed to someone who has no knowledge of public speaking. The bettter you are at getting your point across clearly the more likely you are to get people's attention, or to win a debate. In other words public speaking is a vital skill all teenagers should be taught in school. I thoroughly enjoyed doing standing debates, performing speeches in front of the class, and doing pretend job interviews with my class mates! The Public Speaking exam took place on the 16th of May, a day which was much anticipated and prepared for! I chose to do my speech on the motion "Social Media Does More Harm Than Good" and I decided to propose the motion. After lots of researching and finding inspiration from books, websites and people I created my 5 minute speech. Along with my speech I made a short but informative Powerpoint Presentation with many pictures to enhance the overall experience of my public speaking exam. The exam was enjoyable went very well, and was a lot easier than I had expected it to be! The examiner was very kind and interested and asked me a couple of thought-provoking questions before I left the room. Below I have attachted a copy of my speech and of the Powerpoint Presentation that went with it:
