The Personal Finance Module was very practical, interesting and enjoyable! It is vital for young people to understand how to manage money and time, to comprehend the different methods of payments, to learn important terms related to finance and to understand where and how to save money. The points I just mentioned are only a section of the Personal Finance Module, that we explored over the course of 6 weeks. If you understand personal finance, then you will understand your money flow a lot better. There are a number of people that muddle through life paying their bills and their mortgage payment with the money that they have and then spending the rest of it or maybe letting it sit in their bank account. These are people that have no idea how personal finance works, so even if they end up making the right decisions they are doing it through luck. Therefore to help us make the most of our money, it is important we learn the basic facts and rules of Personal Finance. Our project for this Module was to plan and book a week long skiing holiday for two adults. We were given €3000 to spend. With this €3000 we had to book things like return flights to the country we had chosen to go skiing in, transport to the airport and back, accomodation, ski pass, ski equipment, food... It was lots of fun and challenging to plan an entire holiday with the available resources! Below you will see a part of my Personal Finance Project. Below is a summary of how I spent the €3000 while skiing one week in Austria with a friend!

The Project for the Art Appreciation Module was to choose an artist or photographer of your choice and write a detailed description of the artist's early life, their art style and techniques, pictures and explanations of their famous art works, a little about their later life and the reason for which we chose the artist! I chose to do my project on the world-renowed Dutch artist 'Johannes Vermeer'. I thoroughly enjoyed researching Johannes Vermeer and his paintings, I also enjoyed putting my project together in a presentable and clear way! During the classes of this module, we examined and compared many famous paintings from different periods in history. It was very interesting to look at paintings in great details, amd notice small things that you never noticed before! It was also fascinating to see how art has changed and evolved over the last hundreds of years.
This was a great project as it allowed us to discover more about art that we, as individuals, are interested in, in a fun and independant way. Below is a copy of my Art Appreciation Project, hope you enjoy reading it! |
