We have been learning about punctuation in English, since in the times we live in, Punctuation is often ignored and fogotten. As young people nowadays spend hours texting their friends using language, that is commonly known as 'text speak', which mainly consists of abbreviations of words and barely any punctuation. People these days lead very busy lives and don't seem to have the time and patience to write out texts with correct spelling and punctuation.
However, punctuation is extremly important, as it can completely change the meaning of a sentence. Mrs Flanagan asked us to create an eye-catching and clear poster on punctuation, in groups. The purpose of the project is to remind people walking through the corridors at school of the importance of punctuation, and to educate them on the rules involved with the different forms of punctuation. I found it a fun and educational project, and I discovered some rules and facts about punctuation that I didn't know before!
